I am offering engraving blanks and Wire edm slabing service
The engraving tool blanks average .092 square by 2.500 length. I just sent two of these blanks to Shane Taylor . He says they are out performing carbide by a great margin.
I am not much of an engraver so chipping is a big problem for me . This new material stays sharp and doesn't chip in very tough materials. I carve a lot of pattern welded steel. This material holds up very well and my chipping is reduced almost to nothing. EDM work I am currently offering slabing services
.I can slab mosaic or Damascus billets typically saving over half the material lost by using other methods to cut up the material.. Band saws typically remove .035 to.060 thousands per cut then you can add another .030 to .060 clean up Wire edm makes .011 cut in clean material and .002 clean up . You do the math you can work your butt off and throw half your hard earn material on the shop floor or spend a little money and save a bunch of material. I charge $10 per cubic inch of cut. That is cheap compared to the time put into an expensive mosaic or pattern welded billet. The material must arrive clean with one side surface ground. A lot of the current damascus steel sellers are offering stock for folder blades and bolster stock thick enough to split.
