Upgrades are limited to simple file work and guards. I've made some of these with pewter fittings. Damascus steel blades can add a lot to the look of the knife, but do cost more. I enjoy making these frontier knives for the Black Powder crowd. I try to attend one or two RDVs a year. </B></P> <P><B>Damascus Bowies and camp knives start at $1,200 and increase in price depending on blade complexity and choice of handle material. I enjoy making traditional Japanese swords and edged weapons, however they require tremendous effort and time. The last sword I made took two years to deliver and cost a little over $10,000, so your patience is required.
