About me

Welcome to Steve Schwarzer custom knives. This site is about knife collecting and bladesmithing. I will show you some of the folding knives, fixed blades, swords, axes, and more that I made in the past, along with some that are currently available.

All custom knives I make is designed as a functional tool. No matter how fancy or elaborate, a custom knife must function as a cutting instrument first, creating a blend of utility and aesthetics. From the simplest carbon steel hunting knife to the most elaborate mosaic Damascus folding knife, each of my knives is treated with the same skill and dedication to excellence.

Though I work only from my own designs, I have a long-standing commitment to collaborating with collectors to create knives that you will enjoy having and I will enjoy making. Tell me what type of knife you want and I will give you my best work in the confines of your budget. If you have questions about me or my knives, feel free to e-mail or phone me.

My Other Adventures

Air Boating: All work and no play is not much fun. Lora and I have found a great group of new people and things to do in north Florida. We both love boating, air boating in particular. It is something we can do with the whole family or just by ourselves. We have a great group of friends we can ride with. These special boats can take you places very seldom seen by the average person.

Below are some photos of my boat and some of the sites we've seen.

Power Lifting: My other hobby is power lifting. I had to retire from karate because of a bad neck. I started back to the gym to repair my damaged shoulders. While there, I met Dutch Schultz, who has several world records and, at 67 years of age, is the toughest man I know. He is currently bench pressing over 400 lbs. Dutch agreed to train me on the bench press. Since then, I have placed first in every meet I have competed in, except one.

I am now training to try to break a world record. I currently bench press well over 400 lbs. I'm doing this sport to maintain my health and vitality. It is said that " good health is the slowest form of death!"
