"Custom Folding Knives" by Dr. David Darom

Read a full review of the book by the Author himself, David Doram

Following are pictures of my work that are used in this great book. Thumbnail pictures and a brief description of the knives are presented here. To view a higher resolution picture of the knives just press on the thumbnail. These are great pictures by Eric Eggly of Point Seven Photograph. We hope you enjoy them.

I have these books available for $85 plus shipping in the USA. There were only 2500 of these very special books printed. They should increase in value very rapidly. Besides they are a great resource on how these wonderful knives were made. To order contact steveschwarzer@gbso.net, subject Knife Book.

[Schwarzer Mosiac Latch Release Folders] Series of mosiac latch release folders also included in David Doram's new book.
[Special Steve Schwarzer Knife] This is a very special knife that Steve made for the AKI Show in San Diego. The kiler whales are all made using plate and powder metal. This knife is one of his best works. It shows a great range of forge work and design.
[Steve Schwarzer Folder] This is the most complicated mosiac work I have done, says ABS Mastersmith Steve Schwarzer. Historically it is the first and most difficult pattern welding in modern history. The knife was started in 1991. It took six months of forge work just to finish the steel. Only three knives were made using this fantastic shooting scene. This knife is titled "Hunters Dream". It shows the total control of forging technique. This knife laid the ground work for many other fantastic projects, some of which are still in the works. The knife is also featured in David Dorams new book on modern folding knives.
